Meet The Team!
Arriving fresh from the UK back in 2007, where the sport of paddleboarding was just taking off. Bill Dawes soon discovered what a perfect way of exploring the Kerikeri inlet the sport offered, and swiftly set about converting others. As it happened, his near neighbour Mark Epley was suffering from those East Northland winter no-surf blues, and desperate for an alternative way of getting time on the water. His brother-in-law Max Hittle was of similar disposition, and both took to the sport like the proverbial ducks.
All three were soon on the water at every opportunity, and spreading the gospel. The ease with which the sport could be attained, and the pleasure it brought to everyone who tried it very quickly sewed the seeds for Northland Paddleboarding. Mark and Max's professional skills from their Teaching careers and Bill's background in the surfsports and watersports safety industries came together perfectly to bring dreams into reality.
